CritterCross is a citizen science project dedicated to mapping wildlife-vehicle collisions across the United States. We take your privacy seriously. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and what we will never do with it.

CritterCross will never sell, rent, trade, or otherwise transfer your personal information to any third party for commercial purposes. Your data exists to support conservation — not to generate revenue from advertising or data brokers.

We do not use advertising networks, analytics trackers, or social media pixels.
Report data (location, species, date/time) is retained indefinitely as part of the scientific dataset. Email addresses collected via the waitlist are retained only until the app launches or until you request removal. You may request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us.
CritterCross is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has submitted personal information through our app, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
You have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of any personal data we hold about you. To exercise these rights, contact us at contact@crittercross.org.
We may update this Privacy Policy as the app and its features evolve. Material changes will be noted with an updated date at the top of this page.
